WYR is an experimental, electroacoustic trio comprised of two drummer-percussionists and one saxophonist. Combining a myriad of acoustic instruments at their disposal along with a constantly changing palette of electronic effects, WYR creates improvised music that is "Organized sound at its most eloquent and vivid" (quote by Gary Fukushima of LA Weekly).

NOVA is the product of an entirely improvised performance on September 14th, 2015 in the McKinney Theater at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA. Interestingly, this performance took place the night before TERRANIGMA was recorded at Blue Whale in Little Tokyo - the trio took the stage to let go before approaching the live session the following night, where they would be joined by vocalists Areni Agbabian and Joanna Wallfisch. The result is a raw, unadulterated sound world that moves from brutal and truly terrifying to calm and contemplative, foreshadowing themes that would echo throughout TERRANIGMA the following evening in a completely different aesthetic scenario.

The performance was documented before a live audience courtesy of audio/visual director Kevin Mowry.
